Lunch from a Soviet canteen

In addition to various events, tours and quests, we also offer you a delicious meal in the center of the Old Town.
You can additionally order food for the selected program. Or, if you have your own event planned, you can order only lunch from us.

The most popular place of public catering in Soviet times was the canteen. The main task of the canteen was to feed a large number of people. The interior was given the least attention: a lot of tables covered with oilcloth and decorated with vases with flowers, napkin holders and salt cellars. Earthenware or metal dishes were complemented by aluminum spoons and forks. And the food in turn had to be as nutritious as possible, so the first, second, third and compote were to be present in the composition of your lunch. And an important addition to any meal was bread. Without bread, a meal was considered empty and unsaturated.

• Borsch is  a warm and hearty beef soup , along with some root vegetables, slow cooked for hours in a sweet paprika laced broth
• Buckwheat and goulash. Goulash - is a stew made of meat and vegetables
• Beet salad
• Bliny - Russian pancakes  with sour cream and jam
• Cranberry mors - water with cranberry and syrup
• Rye bread
• Still water

Menu 2.   21,5 euro/person

• Chicken soup
• Homemade cutlets with mashed potatoes
• Pickles
• Syrniki - is a dessert consisting of fried cottage cheese pancakes that are usually garnished with sour cream
• Dried fruit compote
• Rye bread
• Still water

Menu 3.   17 euro/person

• Buckwheat and goulash
• Beet salad
• Bliny - Russian pancakes  with sour cream and jam
• Cranberry mors - water with cranberry and syrop
• Rye bread
• Still water

We cook for a group of 10 to 50 people.
Reservation is required.
Duration of lunch: 45-60 minutes.
